New BBC 1 television series - Make It At Market - Featuring Emerald Galleries Alison Vincent - Glass Artist
Welcome to the first article of 2023 from Emerald Frames and Gallery, and what a way to start the year!
Following our last gallery exhibition of 2022 - Contemporary Elements, we have exciting news from one of our artists -
Glass artist Alison Vincent will feature in a brand-new BBC TV programme called “Make it at Market” which is hosted by Dom Chinea of “The Repair Shop”.
We were lucky to have two beautiful makers in the gallery space at Emerald in December, Audrey Hammett showcasing her porcelain vessels and Alison Vincent displaying her hand-blown glass sculptures.
With inspiration from nature and the elements, the ceramics and glass contrasted beautifully for the exhibition.
Following on from her exhibition at Emerald, local Buckinghamshire artist Alison Vincent will be on television in a prime-time BBC programme.
Make it at Market - The Repair Shop's Dom Chinea works with a team of business and craft experts to help a group of budding entrepreneurs make a living from their crafting hobby.
The programme helps aspiring artists and hobbyists from a range of different crafts to see if they can - and want to - make a living out of their hobbies with guidance from mentors in their respective crafts.
The 15 episodes are released every Monday to Friday starting Monday 2nd January 2023.
Each episode features two aspiring artists wanting to make careers out if their hobbies and airs on BBC1 at 4:30pm with a repeat at 7:15am on BBC2 the following day.
Alison’s episode airs on 12th January on BBC1 at 4:30pm with a repeat at 7:15am on BBC2 on Friday 13th January.
This programme sounds fantastic and I hope you might enjoy seeing Alison and all the fellow makers on the show - I’ll be watching!
