100 days of Vitamin SEA by Jacqueline Ford
A warm welcome to our latest Blog full of exhibition news - I'm super happy to announce our next Exhibition which opens this Saturday!
We are delighted to host Jacqueline’s debut solo exhibition launching a collection of representational and semi abstract mixed media artworks, each created from February through May this year as part of the ‘The 100 Day Project’.
‘100 days of Vitamin SEA’ is an apt area of focus for Jacqueline as this is the place she goes to fill her creative cup. Based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, Jacqueline enjoys spending her downtime visiting the English coast and draws inspiration from her happy travels, which is then distilled into her paintings.
Artist's Statement: “I discovered Lindsay Jean Thompson’s ‘The 100 Day Project’ in 2021 and was introduced to the practice of a small act of creativity every day from February through May. This year I have chosen the coast as my theme: the place I go to re-fill my cup - my soul place and happy place.
I am obsessed with finding holey pebbles and am never happier than when paddling and searching for treasure on the tideline or watching the boats in a harbour.”
“This year’s project is the catalyst for my first solo exhibition: ‘100 Days of Vitamin SEA’. My current art practice focuses on exploring mixed media and you can discover artworks ranging from representational to more abstracted perspectives that embrace colour, shape and line – playing between physical presence in the moment and the emotion and memory of being on the tide line.”
“The coast as a regenerative soul place is not unique to me, and I hope that the works on display will resonate with a remembrance in you - of the magic and delight that can be found at the edges of our wonderful island home.”
Jacqueline will be at Emerald Gallery on Saturday the 1st of July from 10 to 12 – fancy meeting the artist and chatting about her paintings – pop in and say hello and let us know where your favourite coastal spot is located.
