Come on inside – An exhibition of Abstract paintings by Julia Weston

🎟 We have a new exhibition in the gallery, which officially opens this Saturday 29th of April.

Julia’s exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday until Saturday the 20th of May.

Julia Weston is a London based part-time artist and a part-time educator.  Julia’s creative studio is neatly tucked away in her back garden and its where you'll find her in moments of play, exploration, and creative development.

As a mixed media artist, working on panels and paper, Julia uses a wide range of mediums including acrylics, inks, collage, and mono-printing - utilising anything found to hand including drawing tools and free-hand machine embroidery.

Julia takes inspiration from an increasing consciousness of life and what gives her delight - be it worn surfaces, the repeat of a pattern, or a visit abroad. Often tending to become obsessed with an idea, Julia will then work and explore a concept at length within her art.

Working in sketchbooks is a part of Julia’s practice and it's how she starts an art session and finds her flow as well as allowing more freedom and explorations into the art.

By completing courses led by practicing artists whom Julia admires, she has developed her own painting practices and developed her understanding of the creative process that has amounted in this exhibition.
